Hawaiian Lomilomi as well as Reflexology, Swedish and Sports Massage Therapy will be the focus of this complete state-approved course (150 hours total). There will also be 50 hours of Human Anatomy and Physiology including Kinesiology (study of skeletal muscles and their actions). Nancy has taught similar courses in Hawaii and New Zealand since 1983, and embeds the classes with stories and spirituality that makes even anatomy fascinating!
This course will include weekend excursions to Volcano for cultural emersion, Hamakua and Puna for pohaku and herbal gathering, and Kona to work on the Ironman Triathlon finishers. Held Mon/Fri 9am-noon and Thurs 9am-5pm.

Immerse yourself in the Aloha Spirit of Hawaii as you meet practitioners of Hawaiian Healing Arts and learn the songs, protocols and hands-on techniques of traditional practitioners of yesterday. The wisdom of the elders infuse this course with mana'o (thoughts) and pu'uwai (heart) for living a balance life and seeing the true essence of who you are, and how to give this gift to those you touch.
Includes techniques well adapted to a spa setting, including pohaku (hot stones), using salt water, hot compresses and herbal medicines. This style of lomi is loving and non-intrusive, yet incredibly deep and effective. Draping is done throughout, as well as pule (prayer) for guidance, all set to gentle music and the 'HA' breath as you learn a full routine. Will also include techniques like 'opu huli (clearing of the abdomen and piko).

In this introductory class you will learn lomi basic strokes and palpation skills. Designed for family and friends, there are no pre-requisites. We will explore techniques for the back and legs/feet, the Hawaiian elders who taught them, the role of mana and pule, and more! Classes run Mon. afternoon through Thurs morning, with time to enjoy the white sandy beaches of Kona. (24 hours; $295.)
Designed for massage therapists, this retreat will explore the traditional healing concepts as taught by the Hawaiian elders (on the Big Island 1995-2005), including cultural healing concepts, using the Ha breath, Ho'oponopono, salt water and la'au lapa'au.
The techniques are deep but gentle, and client assessment and pule customize how the session is delivered to your client for the most effective results.
Monday afternoon through Thurs potluck lunch (pani). (24 hours; $495. includes illustrated workbook and music.)
Working with the 'aumakua, spiritual guides and intuition, as well as advanced palpation skills, we will learn advanced techniques for both prone and supine positions. Includes 'opu huli (deep abdominal work) and 'ili 'ili (hot stones in motion) in a wonderful full-body routine. Students will also learn ways to use ho-opono and the Ha breath for self mastery and increasing mana.
