About Us

The Aloha Spirit in Motion

How To Lomi is all about embracing and sharing the gifts of traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage and lifestyle skills. Lomi incorporates many facets of natural healing including living aloha, restoring balance to one's life, the gift of forgiveness, being non-judgmental and staying "right" within yourself.

My name is Nancy Kahalewai.

I am a published author and longtime massage practitioner and teacher. I taught massage therapy on the Big Island of Hawaii from 1976 through 2007. During this time I founded two massage schools in Hawaii, and co-directed the first finish line massage team for Kona's Ironman Triathlon until moving to New Zealand. In Hawkes Bay, NZ, I taught the Certificate of Relaxation Massage and the Diploma of Therapeutic Massage until 2014.
After studying Sustainable Horticulture in 2015, I returned back to Hawaii to teach Hawaiian lomilomi and ventured to the US Mainland to teach massage in New Mexico in 2016. Here in the USA I caught up with my sons and grandchildren. I am now finishing my next book and producing a new DVE on Lomi for the Spa Setting.
You can find out more about me and about my first book here – http://bigislandmassage.com The revised 3rd Ed has been released in eBook format. For a free copy of chapter one of my brand new book due out later this year, go to the HowToLomi.com webpage and signup there, and you'll also get access to some cool free lomi-lomi massage videos.
It is my greatest joy to share these important truths with you and to help you to further your understanding of Lomi Lomi massage and healing, as it will give you insights to truly transform your life. It is truly the Aloha Spirit in Motion!

Aloha and Kia Ora,
Nancy
